PROMIX portable industrial mixers are manufactured with motors up to 3 HP for use in tanks as large as 5000 gallons, where as PTS mixers are fixed mount and are suitable for tanks larger than 5000 gallons. Promix mixers / agitators are available with direct, gear and variable speed drives. The selection guide below will hold true in most applications and applies to round tanks.

Locate your fluid viscosity on the left and then read across to find the liquid mixer suitable for your tank volume (US Gallons). For example, liquid with viscosity of 100 cPs in a 100 Gallon tank would require a model PL-33.

Direct Drive Models - PL and PH also come in economy gear drives with 350 RPM output. The maximum Horse Power for PL is 3/4 HP and PH is 2 HP.
Gear Drive Models - PG and PGH mixers come in 110 - 375 RPM output, whereas fixed model PTS comes with a range from 30 to 350 RPM output up to 5 HP.

For HP reference, PL"-25" is furnished with 1/4 HP motor @ 1750 RPM. "-33" is furnished with 1/3 HP motor, "-50" is furnished with 1/2 HP motor, "-75" is furnished with 3/4 HP motor and so on.
